
Team USA Downs Sweden to Claim Gold Medal at 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship

Gothenburg, Sweden - Team USA downed host Sweden, 6-2, to earn the gold medal at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in Gothenburg, Sweden Friday.
Team USA, which featured 22 former players from the USHL and was led by former Green Bay Gamblers assistant coach David Carle (2012-14), won its sixth goal medal in tournament history with today's result.
Team USA, which did not lose a game at this year's tournament, got two goals from Isaac Howard (USA Hockey 2020-22), along with singles from Gabe Perreault (USA Hockey NTDP 2021-23), Ryan Leonard (USA Hockey NTDP 2021-23), Zeev Buium (USA Hockey NTDP 2021-23), and Rutger McGroarty (USA Hockey NTDP 2020-22) in the victory.
Goaltender Trey Augustine (USA Hockey NTDP 2021-23) had 26 saves to backstop the win in net.
