Team USA Coming to the Resch

Team USA travels to Green Bay this weekend for a pair of games against the Green Bay Gamblers at the Resch Center. Based in Plymouth, Michigan, Team USA, also known as the National Team Development Program (NTDP), was started in 1996 by USA Hockey as a way to identify elite ice hockey players in the country under the age of 18, and centralize their training. There are two teams in the program, an Under-17 squad and an Under-18 squad. The Gamblers will face the older of the two teams.

In action this weekend for Team USA are six players who are ranked amongst the best draft eligible players by NHL Central Scouting. List includes; Oliver Wahlstrom (7), Joel Farabee (11), Mattias Samuelsson (17), Patrick Giles (19), Bode Wilde (22) and K'Andre Miller (31).

Team USA schedule consists of USHL teams, international tournaments and NCAA Division 1 programs including; Bowling Green, Notre Dame, Dartmouth, Harvard, Lake Superior State, Michigan, Michigan State and North Dakota.

Since 1996 the program has produced 67 1st round NHL draft picks, 10 Stanley Cup Champions and 218 players who have appeared in the NHL. Alumni list includes Jack Eichel (Buffalo), Patrick Kane (Chicago), Ryan Kesler (Anaheim), Phil Kessel (Pittsburgh), Austin Matthews (Toronto), Brandon Saad (Chicago), Ryan Suter (Minnesota) and Jack Werenski (Columbus).

Start time for both games is 7:05 PM. Tickets start at just $10 for bowl seating and $27 for beverage inclusive seating.
