Chicago Steel News Release
GENEVA, ILLINOIS - This weekend, the Chicago Steel host their only three-home-game weekend of the season, including Innovation on Ice: A Power Play for Geneva Schools presented by FONA International on Friday versus Omaha, College Night on Saturday against Sioux Falls, and A Day for the Trolls on a Steel Family Sunday when Chicago takes on Youngstown.
On Friday, the Steel take on the league-leading Omaha Lancers for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff. To celebrate Innovation on Ice: A Power Play for Geneva Schools presented by FONA International, the Steel will be wearing special Geneva Vikings-themed jerseys to be auctioned off during the game, which will benefit the Geneva Academic Foundation. It's also the final Meijer Kids Day of the season - kids 12 and under can receive an Attack Preferred ticket, popcorn, Steel light-up wand and post-game autographs, all for just $10. Fun activities throughout the game will include teacher vs. student trivia, "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" contest and a video of Steel players discussing their favorite, and least favorite, school subjects.
Saturday is College Night when the Steel host the Sioux Falls Stampede and features a $10 ticket offer for college students with a valid ID. The game will feature an update on Steel players now competing at the NCAA level and promotions such as a ramen noodle eating contest, a Steel college commitment match game, and more.
Closing out the weekend is A Day for the Trolls on a Steel Family Sunday against the Youngstown Phantoms, who enter the weekend four points ahead of the Steel in the Eastern Conference standings. The 3:05 p.m. game features a post-game Skate with the Steel, as well as the Steel Family Pack offer - purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas (or waters) and four chuck-a-pucks starting at just $48. The package must be purchased in advance and is not available on the day of the game. Trolls trivia, musical tires and Rusty dance party highlight the afternoon of family fun. Fans can bring their own skates for the post-game Skate with the Steel or rent a pair from the Fox Valley Ice Arena for $4.
Advance tickets to all Steel games at Fox Valley Ice Arena start at just $10 and parking is always free.
Steel games are carried live on Mixlr (free audio) and HockeyTV (iPPV). For more information, visit ChicagoSteelHockeyTeam.com/broadcast. For more information, or to purchase Steel tickets, call 855-51-STEEL, stop by the Box Office at Fox Valley Ice Arena or visit ChicagoSteelHockeyTeam.com.
