Boise, Idaho- Six Idaho Stampede players scored in double-digits Friday night as the Stampede snapped a two game losing streak with a 111-87 NBA Development League victory at the Qwest Arena.
The Stampede improved to 27-10 on the season and maintained their two game lead over the Defenders for first place in the West Division, while Utah dropped to 18-18 on the year with its eleventh road loss of the season. Both teams return to the Qwest Arena tonight for a rematch.
The Flash kept it close as Idaho took a slim one point lead into the half before an offensive explosion in the second half sealed the deal for the Stampede, as Idaho outscored the Flash 55-32 in the second half.
"We just came out flat in the second half." Flash coach Brad Jones said. "Our energy level dropped significantly in the last 24 minutes of the game and that is what cost us."
The Flash, who lead the league in turnovers per game at 19.8 per contest, were victim of the turnover bug again with 21 turnovers, thanks in large part to 10 Idaho steals.
Seattle Supersonics assignee Mouhamed Sene doubled up with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sene's presence was felt on the defensive side of the floor as well as the 6-11 center picked up five of the 10 Idaho thefts.
Mike Taylor led all Idaho scorers with 20 points on the night while Lance Allred added 16 points. Randy Livingston recorded 15 points and Brent Petway added 13 points, while Luke Jackson contributed 12 points for the Stampede.
Utah Jazz assignees Morris Almond and Kyrylo Fesenko recorded 27 and 10 points respectively in the losing effort.
Newly re-assigned Boston Celtics rookie Gabe Pruitt picked up 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, including a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc, in his first game back with the Flash.
