
Team Captain Vahid Assadpour Named to MASL Team of the Week

INDEPENDENCE, Mo (November 24, 2015) - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today its Team of the Week for week five of the 2015/16 season. Comets team captain was named to the Team of the Week for the first time this season after leading Missouri to back-to-back victories against the St. Louis Ambush and the Chicago Mustangs.
On Friday, Assadpour scored one goal and recorded two assists for a total of three points in a 10-3 win over cross state rivals St. Louis Ambush at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Two days later, he added another tally and an assist to his name as the Comets beat Chicago 9-5 on the road.
Assadpour leads the league with 15 points in 5 games. He has found the back of the net on five occasions and totals 10 assists.
MASL Team of the Week (continued):
GK - Sanaldo, Ontario Fury: Recorded 16 saves on 19 shots and earned the first ever win against the San Diego Sockers in franchise history for the Fury.
D - Juan Topete, Ontario Fury: Scored 2 goals on team high 4 shots in the 4-3 win over his former team, the San Diego Sockers.
D/M -Antonio Manfut, Syracuse Silver Knights: Had 3 assists in the 9-4 win over Waza Flo helping the Silver Knights to improve to 1-1 on the season.
M - Max Ferdinand, Milwaukee Wave: Recorded 3 goals and added 2 assists in the win over the Cedar Rapids Rampage.
M/F - Vahid Assadpour, Missouri Comets: Led the Comets offense over two games scoring 2 goals and adding 3 assists in two wins over the St Louis Ambush and Chicago Mustangs.
F - Bato Radoncic, Milwaukee Wave: Helped the Wave record the win over Cedar Rapids Rampage with 3 goals and adding 2 assists.

Special Honorable Mention: F-Kraig Chiles (San Diego Sockers), Scored 2 goals in loss to the Ontario Fury to reach 250 goals for his career and is now 5 away from breaking the all-time Sockers goal scoring record currently held by Juli Veee.
