
Taylor Belts Two Bombs in Colonials' 10-7 Win

Little Falls, NJ - The Pittsfield Colonials used a pair of home runs by third baseman Jason Taylor to beat the New Jersey Jackals 10-7 and clinch the series by taking the first three games of the four game swing at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, New Jersey on Saturday evening.
Colonials' starter David Qualben (4-5) earned the win over five and one-third innings of work, allowing seven runs (six earned) on four hits, three walks, and five strike-outs. Reliever Reymond Cruz pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning to complete the sixth while Matt Lyons dealt a perfect seventh and eighth innings. Closer Juan Padilla (6) delivered his team high sixth save of the season.
Taylor (2-for-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI) belted his seventh and eighth homers of the season for Pittsfield while teammate Rafael Cabreja (3-for-5, HR, 2 RBI) also belted a two-run shot; both hitters have launched three homeruns in the first three games of the series. Shortstop Matt Nandin (3-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI) and second baseman Danny Bomback (3-for-5, RBI) each also enjoyed three hit games in the win.
Jackals' starting pitcher Paul Fagan (0-1) took the loss after four innings of work giving up eight runs on eleven.
New Jersey third baseman Abraham Nunez (1-for-4, HR, 4 RBI) knocked in four runs for New Jersey using his first homer of the season, a three-run shot, and an RBI ground out to do the damage.
The Colonials will go for the series sweep against the New Jersey Jackals at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, NJ on Sunday afternoon when right- hander Kyle Zaleski (7-2) makes the start for Pittsfield against the Jackals' Ryan Lobban (3-1) at 2:05pm.
