Tampa Tarpons to Recognize "Everyday Heroes" in July 4th Celebration

Tampa, Fla. - The Tampa Tarpons invite fans to celebrate Independence Day at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday, July 4th. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and the Tarpons will battle the Clearwater Threshers at 6:30 p.m. After the game, fans are invited to stay for a fireworks display.

As a thank you to our "Everyday Heroes," the Tarpons are offering free admission to all current and former EMT, firefighters, police officers and military personnel. Showing valid identification is required.

Players and coaches will be wearing custom Stars & Stripes ball caps. Tarpons players will sign a set of ball caps that will be available for bid in an on-site silent auction during the game. After the game, auction winners will be invited onto the field to meet the player that signed their hat. Proceeds from the auction will benefit My Warrior's Place.

The mission of My Warrior's Place is "to provide a safe refuge and bring about healing and hope to all Veterans and Military Service Members who have returned from the battlefield." - www.mywarriorsplace.org.

All fans in attendance will also enjoy a special of $3 16-ounce Bud and Bud Light drafts, as well as Wing Wednesday special of 6 wings for $5. (While wings last.)
