San Antonio Talons News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (MAY 24, 2012) - The San Antonio Talons head to Salt Lake City today as they prepare to take on the Utah Blaze this Saturday at 7 p.m. MDT in the EnergySolutions Arena.
The last time the two teams faced off against one another was the Talons' inaugural season home opener on March 10 at the Alamodome when San Antonio defeated Utah 54-48. The Talons (7-3) are riding a four-game winning streak, with their most recent win a 72-47 trouncing of the San Jose SaberCats.
The Talons now lead the Arena Football League (AFL) Central Division and hold the no. 2 overall spot in the League in Week 12 of the AFL Power Rankings. The Blaze, ranked third in the Western Division behind the Arizona Rattlers and the San Jose SaberCats, are in the midst of a losing streak, having been defeated in their two most recent match ups.
"To prepare for this game, we have to take the revenge factor into consideration," said Tyrone Peace, Defensive Back Coach. "Utah is a Western Conference opponent and we are playing in their backyard. They are where we were at the beginning of the season, and they will gauge where they stand by how they play against us on Saturday."
The Talons are determined to maintain the longest winning streak in the league as they fight to extinguish the Blaze and gain their fifth consecutive victory this weekend.
