Talons Score 177 In Victory

December 23, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Gallup Outlaws News Release

Gallup, NM. The Gallup Talons set an ABA season high for points scored as they hit 177 points in the defeat of the Hawaii MegaForce in Gallup. The 177-111 win was the widest margin of victory also and helped push the Talons record to 10-0 and remain in control of first place. Scoring 49 points in the first quarter, the team took an 87-55 lead into halftime...and came out for the second half just as hot. Virtually the entire Talons lineup scored in double figures with a rare display of offense led by the guard tandum of Will Funn and Larry Morinia who have been getting the ball into the hands of their teammates all season. Last night it was 14 and 11 assists respectively. According to coach Clayton Shields, "I wish some NBA scouts would come to our games and watch these two play - this is what being a point guard is all about. Regardless of which one is on the floor, our offense runs like a well-oiled machine. And they score too." For more information, email kolbsteven18@aol.com or visit www.abalive.com.
