San Antonio Talons News Release

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (April 18, 2012) -- The San Antonio Talons have more to celebrate than their recent victory over the New Orleans Voodoo last Friday as two players receive distinct honors in the Arena Football League (AFL).

The AFL announced Tuesday that fullback Tank Cook, Talons #28, was awarded the Spalding Highlight of the Week after barreling through five tackles to complete a touchdown that gave San Antonio a lead over the New Orleans Voodoo.

"Loco Ocho" Aaron Garcia, on the other hand, is demonstrating the team's powerful impact off the field as he is recognized as the National Guard Community MVP for week six . Each week, one player is awarded the National Guard Community MVP to acknowledge his commitment to community service. Garcia, who has dedicated part of this time to the San Antonio's Wounded Warrior Project, says, "The military community plays such an important role in both San Antonio and across the country and I hope to honor and recognize them in all that I do."

In honor of the United States Servicemen and Servicewomen, the Talons will host a Military Appreciation Day on May 19, National Armed Force Day, as they take on the San Jose SaberCats at a 7 p.m. game at the Alamodome. More information surrounding Military Appreciation Day will be announced in the coming weeks.
