New Orleans VooDoo News Release
NEW ORLEANS (April 18, 2012) - Earlier this week, we sat down with New Orleans VooDoo Doll Nicole for this week's "21 Questions with a VooDoo Doll" segment brought to you by Arata and Arata Law Offices. Nicole is a captain on this year's team. Each and every game week, a VooDoo Doll will be featured, and this is the sixth installment of the 2012 season.
Heels, wedges, or flats and why:
Heels! They make you feel strong and powerful!
Best thing about being a VooDoo Doll:
It is a chance to be a role model for so many young girls in the New Orleans area. I love how excited they get when they have the chance to meet us. The sparkle in their eye is the same sparkle I had when I was their age!
What is your ideal first date:
My first date with my husband was in a coffee shop on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean. That was pretty ideal!
What is your all-time goal in life:
Keep life fun and exciting! Life is too short and precious to be stuck doing things you don't like.
What do you love most about New Orleans:
The people!! I have never met such wonderful people anywhere else. They make up the culture and the spirit in this city that is so infectious!
What is your pre-game ritual:
Crunches and 10 push-ups before we hit the field!
Favorite holiday:
Thanksgiving! It's all the fun of Christmas without the stress of presents and spending money! And the food is always yummy, too!
Favorite ice cream flavor:
Cranberry and Hibiscus from Creole Creamery.. So yummy!
N'Sync or Backstreet:
I was obsessed with N'sync. I used to write letters and everything. It was unhealthy! Ha!
Favorite off-day activity:
Enjoying what New Orleans has to offer!
How do you like your crawfish? Mild, hot, or next day lip-burning hot:
I like them hot!
Favorite VooDoo player:
Marlon Favorite is a really nice guy!
Favorite way you like your shrimp cooked (fried, boiled, BBQ, etc.):
Fried and in between two pieces of French Bread. Dressed with lots of pickles! (You would never know that I'm a Yankee, right?)
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be:
I would love to be able to backpack through Europe.
One word to describe yourself and why:
Laid-back! If you can't do anything about the outcome of something, why stress and get upset?
Favorite childhood memory:
Christmas with my family. I have more than 30 cousins and everyone would pile into my grandparents' house. It was the best!
Favorite song to listen to over and over:
A song that has lots of harmonies so I can try and sing each part; those are my favorite songs!
Favorite sport to play and why:
I really like golf. It is relaxing, and you are able to get out and enjoy the sunshine!
If you could go on a date with Bones or MoJo, who would it be:
Mojo would be a great date. I bet he is excellent at snuggling.
Worst thing a fan has ever done to get your attention:
Yelling and hollering at us to "Shake our pom poms", or just being creepy!
What advice would you give to young girls:
Have thick skin! The biggest obstacle you will face in dancing is rejection. Remember to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep trying.
