Gallup Outlaws News Release
Gallup, NM. The ABA Gallup Talons have named Rock LeBeau as its first player scout to emphasize talent searches and coordinate team activities in the Northern Plains area of the United States. The 32-year old LeBeau is employed with the Public Relations Office of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe in Eagle Butte, S.D. LeBeau played four years at Haskell Indian Nations University as a point guard and two years in the United States Marine Corps for the all-base team.
"Rock is going to be a valuable asset to the team," said Joseph Kolb, owner of the Gallop Talons. "There is an abundance of talent in the Northern Plains area of the country that most people have never seen."
LeBeau agreed with Kolb and believes he can fill a necessary void. "I've been all over Indian Country playing basketball and I know who the top players are," said LeBeau. "I will bring motivation, Native-hoops knowledge and love for the overall mission of the organization, which is Native American Basketball. The talent has been good around her for generations but they never had a platform to demonstrate their skills. Now that there is the opportunity, there are players here on the reservation who will do well and succeed."

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
