May 24, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Bellingham Slam News Release
Bellingham, WA. The ABA Bellingham Slam professional basketball team announced a change to one of their dates for the free agent tryout camp upcoming next month.
The Slam will now be utilizing two NBA facilities for their tryout camps. The site of the first camp has been changed to the Seattle Supersonics practice facility, the Furtado Center, on Saturday, June 11th. The second tryout camp remains the same taking place at The Basketball Centre, the Vancouver Grizzlies former practice site, in Richmond, British Columbia on Sunday, July 17th.
"While we regret having to change something we already announced, having the opportunity to hold a tryout camp at an NBA facility is not something you pass up,"commented Slam assistant general manager Kip Leonetti. "These tryout camps will be very exciting for both the Slam and the players involved."
The cost for participating in the tryout camp is $75 in U.S. funds. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms are available on the Slam website at www.bellinghamslam.com or by email at kip.leonetti@bellinghamslam.com or by calling 206 229 0326 or visiting www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
