Talons defeat Aftershock in final seconds

Gallup, NM. The ABA Gallup Talons were able to defeat the Los Angeles Aftershock 115-112 in a close final seconds win. It didn't come easily as the Aftershock were able to cut a 14-point Talon lead to three in the waning moments of the game. With just seconds left on the clock, the Aftershock had two three point attempts that both came up short as both bounced along the rim leading the Talons to the win. The Talons were able to hold off the Aftershock run in the fourth as both Bernard McIntosh and Larry Morinia had fast break dunks that helped the Talons keep their lead at three.
The Talons controlled the momentum throughout the game heading into the fourth quarter as they built leads of 20 at one point and had leads of 11 at the end of the first half and 14 at the end of the third quarter. Gallup was able to start building their lead at the end of the first quarter as they fought off a hot shooting start by the Aftershock. Brandon Mason led the Talons with 27 points while Alvin Broussard hit five three-pointers on his wsay to a 19 point night for he Talons. Joe Kolb, team owner, stated, "I think the California teams are beginning to realize just how good we are - and that our high ranking is certainly deserved. And, we're getting better."
