Birmingham Magicians News Release
Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Magicians of the ABA are preparing to take on the Atlanta Vision in a critical division game tonight, January 12th and Saturday, January 14th. The games will be played at Jefferson State Community College with a 7 p.m. starting time. The Magicians are coming off a tough 126-93 lost at the Florida Pit Bulls last Sunday and look to get back on track against the Atlanta Vision. "We played great the first 20 minutes against Florida and then we turned the ball over too much and never quite recovered, "Farmer said. "I expect a much better performance against Atlanta this weekend." The Magicians are now 4-5, but still in second place ahead of the Atlanta Vision.
The Magicians have signed several new players, including former Steve Horne, a former McDonald's High School All-American from Pensacola who played for Pat Kennedy at the University of Montana. The Magicians are led by former Georgia star, Mike Dean, the team's leading scorer at 24 points per game and former Alabama star, Brian Williams, who averages 18 point per game.
The Magicians are scheduled to host the Kentucky Colonels at Jefferson State next Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 7 p.m., before traveling for a special promotional game in Dothan against the Tim Hardaway led Florida Pit Bulls on January 26, 2006.
