
ABA All-Star Game Selection Process Begins

(Rochester, N.Y.)SThe American Basketball Association's All-Star 2006 weekend will be held February 10-12 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida. The league's player selection process is under way, with each of the ABA teams submitting two player's names to be considered by a panel of ABA coaches.
Along with the All-Star game on Saturday, February 11, the weekend will include a 3-Point Shootout, Slam Dunk contest, a Kids Fan Jam and a Celebrity Half-time performance. A special pre-game ceremony will pay homage to the original ABA legends including Julius "Dr. J" Erving, George "The Ice Man" Gervin, Moses Malone, Spencer Haywood, Connie Hawkins, Marvin Barnes, Ron Boone, Freddie Lewis and others.
The teams will be led by the coaches of the top three teams from the East and West when next week's ABA Pit Bull Power Rankings are announced on Monday, January 16. If the Rochester RazorSharks can hold their current #4 ranking, Head Coach Rod Baker will be part of the East team's coaching staff. Beginning January 20, two players will be announced each day until the rosters are filled.
