Alley Cats need rally for 18th win

Anderson, IN. The ABA Indiana Alley Cats rallied from a fourth quarter deficit for the first time at home this seaosn defeating the Detroit Wheels 98-92 at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium at Anderson College. Indiana trailed Detroit 78-74 before outscoring the visitors 24-14 over the final eight minutes of the game to remain undefeated and improve to 18-0 on the season.

Chandler Thompson led the Alley Cats with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals despite hitting only 4-of-16 field goals in the game. However, he made 8 of 9 free throws. Carl Edwards finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, hitting half of his eight field goals and 8 of 9 foul shots. Shaun Fountain had 17 points and three steals; Brandon Brantley added 10 points, seven rebounds.

Indiana shot only 39% from the field in the game and missed its first 10 shots from 3-point range while falling behind 20-13 after the first quarter. Detroit shot 44% from the field but hit only 10 of 20 free throws compared to 33 of 46 for the Alley Cats. Detroit held a 55-43 advantage on the boards but turned the ball over 30 times to only 15 for Indiana.
