Patroons Edge the Alley Cats, Clinch the Division Crown

Anderson, IN (March 25, 2007) - The Albany Patroons overcame a fourth quarter deficit to beat the Indiana Alley Cats this afternoon, 118-114. With the victory, the Patroons won the American Division title. Indiana ended their season with a record of 23-25.

The Alley Cats shot 65% in the first quarter to give themselves a 32-28 lead. The Patroons (30-18) closed the gap to one, 62-61, at the half. Carl Edwards led all scorers with 23 points in the half, while Jamario Moon had 18 for the Patroons. Indiana won the third quarter and took a five-point lead into the fourth. Albany proceeded to outscore the Alley Cats by nine in the final quarter to pick up the victory.

Edwards paced Indiana with a game-high 38 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists. Josh Murray posted a double-double (20 points and 12 rebounds). Chandler Thompson scored all 26 of his points in the second half. He connected on five of seven shots from behind the arc.

Moon led Albany with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Kareem Reid (20 points and 11 assists) and Carl Mitchell (11 points and 12 rebounds) both had double-doubles. Chris Sockwell added 17 points and 6 rebounds, while John Strickland tallied 19 points.
