Xplosion Win the Final Contest with the Alley Cats

Pittsburgh, PA (March 21, 2007) - The Pittsburgh Xplosion rallied back from a halftime deficit to defeat the Indiana Alley Cats tonight, 119-103. The Alley Cats only picked up one quarter point in the game. They fell to .500 on the season with two games remaining.
The Xplosion shot 60% from the field in the first quarter, which allowed them to gain a 31-24 lead at the end of the quarter. The Alley Cats rallied back to win the second quarter and take a 50-45 halftime lead. Shaun Fountain led all scorers with 16 points at the half, while Corey Minnifield had 14 points and 7 rebounds for Pittsburgh. The Xplosion came back in the third to take a six point lead going into the final quarter of play. They dominated the fourth quarter and went on to win the game.
Fountain led all scorers with 37 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Romuald Augustine posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Murray added 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Lester Jones tallied 13 points and 6 rebounds. Chandler Thompson finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Minnifield paced the Xplosion with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Rob Griffin contributed 24 points and 4 assists. Shawn Hawkins had 19 points in the victory.
The Alley Cats will wrap up their season by hosting the division-leading Albany Patroons this weekend. Tip off on Friday night is set for 7:00, while Sunday's action will begin at 5:00.
