Tacoma Stars Re-Sign Joey Gjertsen

TACOMA, WA. - The Stars are welcoming back Tacoma native and Major Arena Soccer League veteran Joey Gjertsen for the 2018-19 season. Per league and team policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Gjertsen played high-school soccer at Wilson and collegiately at Tacoma Community College and Evergreen State. He continued to advance and made 36 appearances with San Jose of the MLS.
Last season with the Stars Gjertsen saw action in 19 regular season games with 18 total points on eight goals and 10 assists. He added an assist in three post-season games. For his career, Gjertsen has 57 points (30G-27A) in 61 games played including playoffs.
"Joey has been a leader and captain for the 2.0 professional version of the Tacoma Stars. Having a player with his experience and creative ability makes our team better and each of the players around him better. It's a pleasure to have him in our team".
