Tacoma Defiance Opens 2022 MLS NEXT Pro Season Sunday against Real Monarchs

TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance is set to kick off its inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season on today, Sunday, March 27 against Real Monarchs at Starfire Stadium (12:00 p.m. PT / mlsnextpro.com). The latest addition to the player development pathway, MLS NEXT Pro teams play 24 matches throughout the six-month season, culminating in an eight-team postseason after the regular season ends in September.

Defiance, who plays in MLS NEXT Pro's Pacific Division, today announced that it has agreed to MLS NEXT Pro Standard Loans with Sounders FC First Team players Sam Adeniran, Josh Atencio, Reed Baker-Whiting, Abdoulaye Cissoko, Stefan Cleveland, Danny Leyva, Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez, Jackson Ragen, Dylan Teves, Andrew Thomas and Obed Vargas, making them all eligible to appear for Tacoma throughout the 2022 season.

Additionally, Sounders FC Academy players Levi Beiber, Snyder Brunell, Jayson Castillo, Alex Hall, Stuart Hawkins, Antonio Herrera, Jackson Jeremiah, Michael Luande, Wyatt Nelson and Etienne Veillard are also all eligible to appear for Defiance this season.

Following Sunday's opening match, Defiance stays at home to take on North Texas SC on Saturday, April 2 (7:00 p.m. PT / mlsnextpro.com).
