Tacoma Defiance News Release
TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (4-4-5, 17 points) drew 0-0 with New Mexico United (6-6-4, 22 points) Sunday afternoon at Cheney Stadium during the second match of its four-game homestand. Tacoma is undefeated at home this season with a 4-0-2 record.
Despite quality chances from both sides, neither team could find the back of the net throughout the course of the game. The best opportunity for Defiance came in the 20th minute when Ethan Dobbelaere put a cross in the air in front of goal that found the head of Samuel Adeniran. Adeniran was able to head it down towards the net but New Mexico's Alex Tambakis dove on it and held on keep the match scoreless. Tacoma's Andrew Thomas shined in the second half when he saved key back-to-back one-on-one situations in the 66th and 67th minutes.
Wade Webber's side gets little time to rest as it hits the pitch again on Thursday, August 5 against Sacramento Republic FC (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+)
