TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (5-19-6, 21 points) on Saturday earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Tulsa Roughnecks FC (7-14-10, 31 points) at Cheney Stadium. Shandon Hopeau scored the lone goal of the contest in the 86th minute for Tacoma on an assist from Nick Hinds. Tulsa was reduced to 10 men in the 75th minute when Tobenna Uzo received his second yellow card of the contest.

Hopeau's fifth goal of the season came in the 86th minute off a pass from outside the area from Hinds. Hopeau took one touch with his right foot and slotted it past the Tulsa goalkeeper for the equalizer. He is now tied with Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez for second on the club in goals. Hinds now leads the team in assists with four in 2019.

Tulsa netted the first goal of the evening in the 60th minute. Cristhian Altamirano crossed a ball with his left foot into the area that Uzo headed home to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage. The goal was the fourth of the season for Uzo, and the assist was Altamirano's sixth of the 2019 campaign.

Six players under the age of 20 saw action for Tacoma tonight, including three First Team players in Ocampo-Chavez, Danny Leyva and Trey Muse.

Defiance next travels to take on Fresno FC on Saturday, October 5 (7:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+). The club then returns home to face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, October 12 (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
