TACOMA, WA- The Tulsa Roughnecks traveled to Tacoma, Washington, to take on The Tacoma Defiance in Tulsa's final away game of the season.
Both teams entered the match searching for points to improve their final placement in. the USL Western Conference standings. Tulsa dominated the majority of possession moving the ball well and creating numerous half chances. The better of the chances in the first half fell to Tulsa's Marlon; his shot just wide on two occasions from identical chances. Tulsa and Tacoma entered halftime scoreless.
Tulsa again started the half the more dominant team with Tacoma's front line pressing harder. Tulsa continued to create chances that coach Nsien would have hoped they converted. The deadlock was broken in the 60th minute when Tulsa Roughnecks forward, Toby Uzo, scored a header from the back post. The goal was assisted by Cristhian Altamirano. From the highs of scoring Tulsa's goal, Uzo was the recipient of his second yellow card 15 minutes later and was sent off in the 75th minute. With Tulsa looking to hold onto their 1-0 lead a man down, the tide changed with Tacoma naturally possessing more of the game. Tulsa Roughnecks defended well for the next 11 minutes, but Tacoma made the most of their extra man scoring the game equalizer in the 86th minute. Shandon Hopeau scored the game tying goal for Tacoma that saw the game end 1-1.
