LAWRENCE, KANSAS - Tacoma Defiance (4-3-5, 20 points) drew 2-2 with Sporting KC II (4-4-4, 18 points) Thursday evening at Rock Chalk Park. Tacoma lost the ensuing shootout at the end of regulation, leaving Kansas with one point.

Sporting KC II opened the scoring in the 42nd minute. Ozzie Cisneros was able to stab home the rebound on a deflected cross for the lead right before halftime.

Paul Rothrock leveled the score minutes into the second half. After winning possession in the final third, Cody Baker sent in a pass to Braudilio Rodrigues, who dribbled into the area and fired a low cross that found the feet of Rothrock for the easy finish in front of goal.

The home side retook the lead in the 68th minute when Pau Vidal received a ball on a breakaway and finished the one-on-one chance in front of goal.

After Antonio Herrera drew a foul in the area, Rodrigues converted the ensuing penalty kick in the 76th minute to level the match at two apiece. The goal marked his sixth of the season, leading the team.

Following full time, Tacoma lost the ensuing shootout 5-4 as Defiance left Rock Chalk Park with a point.
