Tacoma Defiance News Release
IRVINE, CALIF. - Tacoma Defiance (7-4-6, 27 points) defeated Orange County SC (7-7-5, 26 points) Wednesday evening 3-0 at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine for its third win in a row. Defiance has yet to lose to the Southern Californian side this season, winning twice and drawing once.
Jackson Ragen got Tacoma on the board first, scoring his first professional goal off a corner kick when Carlos Anguiano found Ragen who was able to head it into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. Defiance doubled its lead courtesy of Sam Adeniran when he smashed a ball from the top of the 18-yard-box into the upper right-hand corner in the 44th minute. Alex Villanueva provided the assist, giving the visitors a 2-0 lead heading into halftime. In the closing moments of the match, Marlon Vargas received a ball from Ray Serrano and was able to guide it into the back of the net to put the exclamation point on the night.
The win is enough to put Tacoma firmly in second place in the Pacific Division standings with 27 points, vaulting it over Orange County. Defiance has amassed 16 points in its last eight games (4-0-4).
