New Mexico United News Release
Albuquerque, NM - New Mexico United is excited to announce the signing of goalkeeper Will Palmquist to the 2021 roster. Palmquist is a native of Denver, Colorado and has been trialing with United for the last few months. Palmquist graduated from the University of Denver in 2020, playing four seasons with the Pioneers.
"Will has displayed a tremendous work ethic, shot-stopping ability, and understanding of the game over the course of his trial with our club," said New Mexico United Head Coach and Technical Director Troy Lesesne. "We are happy and excited for Will that it has materialized into his first professional contract."
In his time at the University of Denver, Palmquist led the Pioneers to fantastic success. In the 2020 season shortened by COVID-19, he recorded three clean sheets in just eight matches, earned a 6-2 record, and finished with a goals-against average of just 0.625, good for 15th in the nation.
Palmquist will be available for selection in tonight's match against Oakland Roots SC.
