
T-Bones Drop Series Opener in SC

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Kansas City T-Bones, led 2-1, since the fourth inning, but allowed four eighth inning runs, to drop game one 5-3, to Sioux City, Friday night at Lewis and Clark Park.
Drew Gay in his second start with Kansas City, pitched seven innings of one-run baseball, against the division leading Sioux City Explorers, but didn't factor into the decision.
The T-Bones with a 2-1 lead, handed the ball to right-handed reliever Aaron Baker (3-1) in the bottom of the eighth inning, and that's when the game re-started. Sioux City scored four runs, all with two outs, including Noah Perio's game tying two run single. Perio also hit his fifth home run of the season, in the second inning. Baker allowed two walks, four hits and was charged with two balks in the crazy inning.
Jake Blackwood hit his ninth home run of the season, in the fourth inning. Starlin Rodriguez and Sergio Leon each had two hits for Kansas City.
Sioux City now leads the season series, 6-1, in seven games against Kansas City.
The T-Bones (41-34) continue the seven-game road trip Saturday evening against the Sioux City Explorers (58-19), with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
