T-Bones Again Among Attendance Leaders in 2011

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - For the fifth straight year the Kansas City T-Bones finished as one of the top four draws in all of independent baseball with a per-game average attendance of 5,222 in 2011.
Since their inaugural 2003 season Kansas City has become a fixture in the independent baseball landscape, averaging 5,471 fans per game in that nine-year span. With a total attendance of 261,115 in 2011 the T-Bones have posted total attendance figures of 200,000 or more in each of their first nine seasons. They have now welcomed more than 2.2 million fans into CommunityAmerica Ballpark in that span.
Kansas City has also established themselves as leaders in minor league baseball as a whole, again finishing in the 85th percentile out of 350 total minor league teams.
"A hearty thank you to our fans across the metro area," T-Bones Vice President and General Manager Chris Browne said. "We appreciate how, now going into our 10th anniversary season, Kansas City families have embraced our affordable brand of independent professional baseball."
Three American Association teams round out the top five in independent baseball average attendance as the Winnipeg Goldeyes (first) and the St. Paul Saints (fifth) also make appearances on the list. The league holds nine of the top 20 spots in the category as well.
