T-Birds Partnering With Boston's To Raise Money for JDRF Tonight

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, March 30, 2010 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds are teaming up with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and Boston's Restaurant & Sports Bar in a fundraising event on Tuesday. March 30. Boston's and the Thunderbirds are extending support to JDRF, the largest funder and advocate for diabetes sciences worldwide, to support the organization's efforts with funding critical research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.
On Tuesday, March 30, from 6 - 9pm, guests that dine at Boston's will be waited on and served by members of the Albuquerque Thunderbirds basketball team. Ten percent of restaurant sales in this timeframe will also be donated to JDRF along with 100% of the tips received by the team.
"Working with charitable organizations is a cornerstone for Boston's, and it provides an opportunity for our restaurant in Albuquerque to engage, support and give back to the local community," said Kate Omtvedt, a manager at Boston's in Albuquerque. "Boston's has partnered with JDRF in the past and we are excited about including the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in this event."
