66ers Acquire Guard JaJuan Smith

TULSA, Okla., March 30, 2010 - The Tulsa 66ers announced today that the team has signed free agent guard JaJuan Smith.

The 6-2 guard played most recently in Brazil and Spain, where he averaged 6.8 points per contest. Smith was a member of the Dallas Mavericks 2008 NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas, where he averaged 7.6 points, and 1.0 rebound in five games. He played in France during the 2008-09 season.

The Cleveland, Tennessee native played four seasons at the University of Tennessee and averaged 11.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 126 games for the Volunteers. Smith ranks third all-time in career three-point field goals made with 681, fourth in career steals with 183 and 19th in career points with 1,384. He was named by the Associated Press to the All-SEC Honorable Mention team his senior season in 2007-08, and helped lead his team to an SEC Championship with a 31-5 record.
