Syracuse Crunch Right Wing Dan Sexton Named Reebok/AHL Player of the Week

Syracuse, NY (November 7, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the American Hockey League has named right wing Dan Sexton the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 6, 2011.

Sexton had a hand in nine of 10 Syracuse Crunch goals last week. During the Crunch's 5-2 win over the Rochester Americans on Saturday. Sexton registered a career-high five points (1g, 4a). He added another four points (1g, 3a) to his weekend total, the following night, when the Crunch suffered a 6-5 overtime loss in Rochester

Sexton 24, was signed by the Anaheim Ducks as a free agent on April 7, 2009. Sexton has 13 points (4g, 9a) in 11 games for Syracuse this season. He has appeared in 88 NHL games with the Ducks, scoring 13 goals and 19 assists for a total of 32 points.

In recognition of his achievement, Sexton will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Crunch home game.

Sexton is the second Crunch player to be named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week, Kyle Palmieri received the honor for the week ending October 16, 2011.
