Syracuse Mets News Release
Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce that the team will open Alliance Bank Stadium to the public on Wednesday, September 5 and Saturday, September 8 for a pair of football watch parties.
Wednesday's NFL season opening game between the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys will be shown on Alliance Bank Stadium's 30' x 55' HD scoreboard followed by Syracuse University's game against the University of Southern California three days later.
Admission and parking will be free for both watch parties. Fans will be able to watch the games from the first base side of the stadium seating bowl or from inside the Hank Sauer Room, which features restaurant-style seating and menu options plus a full-service bar. Outside food and beverages will not be permitted into the stadium.
Gates will open at 8:00pm for the 8:30pm kickoff on Wednesday and at 3:00pm for Saturday's 3:30pm contest. Fans will be admitted to the ballpark via the first base entry ramp only.
"We are excited to offer the community an opportunity to experience the new scoreboard beyond the International League baseball season," said Chiefs General Manager John Simone. "These watch parties are another way for people to get together and enjoy what Chiefsville has to offer."
The Chiefs will wrap up the home portion of their 2012 schedule with a pair of games this weekend against the Rochester Red Wings. Game time on Saturday is 7:00pm while Sunday's home finale is slated to begin at 2:00pm. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Chiefs ticket office at Alliance Bank Stadium, by calling 315-474-7833, or online at SyracuseChiefs.com.
