(Colorado Springs, CO) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced the signing of South Korean midfielder Taeseong Kim to the 2016 roster today.

Head Coach Steve Trittschuh is close to having a full 2016 roster and speaks highly of his new signee. "Taeseong was recommended to me by an agent friend of mine. He spent time training with FC Dallas and has fit in perfectly with the type of game we play. I expect Taeseong to contribute a lot this season."

Kim played two years of college soccer in South Korea (U-League). He played all matches since he was a freshman for Jungwon University. He was a member of the 1st IZ Sports Professional Soccer Combine in Korea and was picked up by FC Dallas coaching staff during the summer of 2015. He then trained with FC Dallas (MLS) for five months when he received the offer from Coach Trittschuh and chose to sign with the Switchbacks.

"It is a great honor to have signed with Switchbacks FC and that I have the opportunity to play soccer here," said Kim. "I am very happy and looking forward to helping the team succeed. My goal is to play hard and be remembered as the player who gives much effort."

Kim received the Hummel Cup Most Assist Award as well as the President Cup Best Eleven Selection (MF) Award.

Per USL and club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
