
Switchbacks FC Announce Retirement of Defender Jimmy Ockford

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Jimmy Ockford has officially retired from professional soccer.
Ockford was the 21st overall pick by the Seattle Sounders in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. Throughout his professional soccer career, he played for the New York Cosmos and won the NASL regular season Champion Cup and the NASL Soccer Bowl Champion Cup in the 2015/2016 season.
This defender was first signed with the Switchbacks in late 2020 and played the following three seasons. Throughout his Switchbacks career, he made 67 appearances, played 5,315 minutes, had 206 clearances, 109 interceptions, and held a passing accuracy of 82.6%.
Jimmy Ockford has been a phenomenal soccer player and the Switchbacks thank him for being such a key player for the team.
