Swift Current Holds off Hitmen in OT

[Swift Current, SK - Colby Cave scored the overtime game-winning goal, his second of the night, to lift the Swift Current Broncos to a 3-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen Monday evening at the Credit Union iPlex. After three post-season contests, Calgary continues to lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Cody Sylvester recorded both goals for the Hitmen, netting the first goal of the game in the opening frame and scoring a late third period tally to force the extra session. Victor Rask and Brooks Macek each added an assist in the loss.

Adam Lowry led the Broncos with a three-point performance (1g, 2a), while Reece Scarlett chipped in a pair of assists in the win.

Chris Driedger stopped 39 of 42 shots he faced in the losing cause.

The Husky WHL Eastern Conference Quarter-Final continues tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26, with a 7 p.m. puck drop at the Credit Union iPlex. The internet broadcast for Game 4 of the series begins at 7 p.m. on www.sportsnet.ca/960. Calgary returns to the Scotiabank Saddledome for Game 5 on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m.
