
Sweets Get Shutout in Game Two Loss

Longview, WASH - The Walla Walla Sweets (4-4) were handed a game two loss 6-0 by the Cowlitz Black Bears (4-4). Cowlitz evened up the series in the Sunday matinee match-up.
The Black Bears scored one in the first, two in the fourth and three in the fifth to build a 6-0 lead and they shut down the Sweets on the offensive side. Walla Walla had four hits on the afternoon and never managed to get a runner to third.
Joe Heineman (Baylor) struggled in his second start, walking five and giving up three runs in three and two thirds innings.
The Sweets had two position players come into pitch in the last three innings. Connor Doyle (San Diego) pitched two scoreless innings and Zach Weisz (Cal State Fullerton) threw the final inning without giving up a base-runner.
The Sweets will go for the series win tomorrow at 6:35 P.M. when they send Chris Murphy (San Diego) to the hill.
