Game 20 | Home Game 11 | Sunday, April 21, 2024 | First Pitch 1:05 PM

RHP Taijuan Walker (0-0, 1.93, MLB Rehab) vs LHP Edgar Barlcay (1-0, 2.77)

TOP TEAM: Even with a loss last night, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre has vaulted themselves into first place in the International League . The RailRiders have a two game advantage over Buffalo and remain the only team in the IL to reach 13 wins.

CALEB CONNECTS - Caleb Durbin ranks first in all Yankees affiliates with 20 total hits and 16 runs batted it. The righty is hitting .316 with seven doubles, one triple, and a home run. He ranks second in the league in stolen bases with ten and is ranked in three other hitting categories. Durbin has played at second, short, and third along with two outfield positions.

THE LONGEST YARD - Cody Poteet made the RailRiders longest start of the season last night going six and a third strong. Poteet allowed just one run on six hits and no walks. He recorded nine groundouts. It was his second quality start of the year after notching one for the Yankees last week.

MOSQUEDA MOVIN' - Oddanier Mosqueda has made nine appearances on the season, the most of any player in the Yankees affiliates. Last night he went an inning and two thirds clean without allowing a base runner. He has had scoreless outings seven of the nine times and has totaled 14 strikeouts in ten and two thirds frames.

BRANDON'S BACK- Brandon Lockridge snapped an 0-for-17 skid with a two-run single in last evening's contest. After two walks and a groundout, he laced a base hit the opposite way in the seventh. Through his first seven games, he was hot batting .417 with eight walks to just a pair of strikeouts. He looks to get back to those beginning ways in the leadoff spot for Manager Shelley Duncan.

FROM THE YANKEES- Kevin Smith made his New York Yankees debut last week after getting the call on April 13th. He played in just one contest, pinch running for Giancarlo Stanton in the top of the tenth. Smith was designated for assignment and cleared waivers getting outrighted to SWB on April 20, but has yet to report. He has now totaled 115 games in the Major Leagues.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN- The team wraps up their series at home today before hitting the road for two straight weeks. First, they will head down to Durham for a six-game set against the affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. The following week they will have a weeks series at Jacksonville, the Triple-A team for the Miami Marlins.

PICKED OFF- The left Kolby Allard had the RailRiders number on the basepaths last night. Two runners were picked off and caught stealing on a throw over to first from the mound. Both Josh VanMeter and Everson Pereira made it interesting with a run down, but were eventually tagged out.
