Newly acquired pitcher Anthony Chavez piched eight innings and only allowed three hits and no runs to lead the Atlantic City Surf to a 5-0 shutout of the Pennsylvania Road Warriors before 4164 at the Sandcastle Saturday night.
It was the fourth straight victory for Atlantic City, 10-5 in the second half, and 15-8 under manager Mitch Williams. Atlantic City got three RBIs from Keith Gordon and a three-hit night from Jose Velasquez to earn the victory. Designated hitter Pete Incaviglia was 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
Enohel Polanco blasted a home run for Atlantic City, which faces Pennsylvania again Sunday night at 7:05 p.m. Brian Williams will pitch for the Surf against Pennsylvania''s TimKester on Atlantic County Smoke Free Coalition Night.
