Hagerstown Suns News Release

Carlos Gomez homered on the very first pitch thrown to a Suns batter, and Hagerstown never looked back, winning 9-5 over Delmarva.

The Suns have now scored 29 runs in three games against the Shorebirds, and have ballooned to 14 games above .500. Jose Sanchez earned his 9th win of the year and the Suns hit two solo homeruns. Sanchez went 6 innings, giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 4. The Suns used a breakout game from Tyler Davidson to pull ahead comfortably and used solid relief from Rafael Cova and Marcelo Perez to get the victory. The Shorebirds made it interesting, scoring 3 runs in the 9th, before Perez struck out CJ Smith to end it. The Suns and Shorebirds will conclude their 4-game series tomorrow at 6:35 at Municipal Stadium. The game will be followed by fireworks presented by American Radiology and Lite 97.5 FM.
