June 29, 2009 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Hagerstown Suns News Release
HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Hagerstown Suns will open the second half of their 2009 home schedule with a four-game series against the Kannapolis Intimidators that begins Tuesday at Municipal Stadium. The series will allow Suns fans to get an early start celebrating the Fourth of July weekend, with a Military Appreciation Night Thirsty Thursday and a July 3 installment of Friday Night Fireworks.
It will be the final appearance of the year at Municipal Stadium for the Intimidators -- an affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
The series kicks off with a 7:05 p.m. Bingo Tuesday, presented by Equipped for Life. Bingo cards will be distributed to fans as they enter the gates, with the squares on each card corresponding to plays that may transpire on the field during the game. Fans completing a "Bingo" will be eligible for great prizes at the Suns' Fan Services center in the Hagerstown Trust Plaza. It will also be Senior Tuesday, and all fans ages 60 and over will get into the game for just $2.
Thanks to the Kraft Singles Tuesday Ticket Offer, reduced admission will be available to all Suns fans for Tuesday's game. Any Suns fan bringing a Kraft Singles wrapper to the ticket window will receive a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer.
On Wednesday, Hagerstown Magazine will present Ladies Night, entitling all ladies to $5.00 admission to the game. The 7:05 p.m. game will also be a Dollar Day at Municipal Stadium, meaning select concessions items will sell for just $1.00 at stands throughout the ballpark.
More outrageous deals are on tap for Thursday's 7:05 p.m. Military Appreciation Night, starting with $1.00 admission for all fans presenting a military I.D. card. Like every Thirsty Thursday at Municipal Stadium, 12 oz. domestic drafts will sell for just $1.25 each, but this Thursday the Suns will be adding Budweiser American Ale drafts as a special to their $1.25 menu. For fans presenting their military I.D., that price will drop even lower, to just $1.00 for all 12 oz. domestic drafts. In addition, Budweiser American Ale long necks will be on sale for the one-time price of just $2.00.
The series will wrap up with a 7:05 p.m. start on Friday, with post-game Third of July fireworks presented by WAYZ 104.7 fm. The fireworks extravaganza is the first of 10 shows that the Suns have scheduled for the second half of the 2009 season, with the majority of the fireworks blasting off on Friday nights.
The Hagerstown Suns play at Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown, MD and are a Class "A" affiliate of the Washington Nationals. Ticket packages and sponsorships are available by calling the Suns at 301-791-6266. Visit the Suns on the web at www.hagerstownsuns.com.
