JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Southern League of Professional Baseball announced that Jacksonville Suns right-handed starter Edwin Jackson was named the league's BC Headache Powder Pitcher of the Week for May 16-May 22.

Jackson earned the accolade after an outstanding outing against the Mobile BayBears on May 20. Jackson pitched 6.2 innings, surrending no runs on two hits while striking out eight and walking three. Ranked by Baseball America as the 3rd best prospect in the Los Angeles Dodgers' organization, Jackson is also ranked number 99 in the top 100 prospects in all of baseball. Jackson is spending his first season in Jacksonville after being named the 2002 Los Angeles Minor League Pitcher of the Year.

For the season, Jackson is 2-2 with a 2.28 ERA with 50 strikeouts and just 19 walks.
