Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release
The Jacksonville Suns will be holding an open call for potential batboys and national anthem singers at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 20.
Batboys need to be at least 14 years old and able to perform multiple assignments. Duties typically include clubhouse and dugout maintenance and cleaning, on-field tasks and promotional work.
Potential batboys should report to the Suns' front office, located on the Adams Street side of the Baseball Grounds at the corner of A. Philip Randolph Blvd. Along with an enthusiastic attitude, potential batboys must bring a copy of their latest report card, their current baseball schedule and a parent or guardian.
Anyone wishing to sing the national anthem prior to Suns games may audition Saturday. Singers will be asked to perform the "Star Spangled Banner" a capella and fill out routine paperwork. There is no need to bring demonstration material.
