Suns announce 2005 Promotional Schedule

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â Suns fans could win a lot of great prizes this season â even a new car as part of the Chrysler/Jeep Triple Play Giveaway! As part of a series of new promotions, fans could also win free burritos for a year from Qdoba Mexican Grill, a pre-owned vehicle on Used Car Night or cash. Fans will be treated daily to a special event as the Suns announce there will be a promotion for all 70 home games scheduled in 2005.
Among the new promotions, if the Suns turn a triple-play in the third inning during any home or road game, a selected fan will win a free vehicle, courtesy of the North Florida Chrysler/Jeep dealers. A selected Suns fan can win free burritos for a year from Qdoba Mexican Grill if a Suns player hits a home run in their inning. And all fans in attendance will receive a sandwich coupon from Arby's, if the Suns "Plate Eight" runs.
Many ongoing promotions return, such as Comcast Cable Bill Monday and Baseball Bingo, Fifty Cent Family Feast where on selected Tuesdays, fans can enjoy hot dogs, peanuts and ice cream treats for 50 cents all night long and the Businesspersons' Special where $12.50 buys a box seat, large hot dog and large beverage of choice. All Wednesday games begin at 1:05 p.m. and downtown workers can commute by riding the JTA Sunflower Trolley at no charge.
On Thursdays, the Thursday Night Throwdown returns with Budweisers for a Buck for all Thursday games except Opening Night, April 7. On Fridays, NAPA Friday Family Fireworks Spectacular postgame fireworks display follows every Friday game through July. And Solantic sponsors Kids Run the Bases as all kids are invited to run around the bases following most Sunday afternoon games.
Two Christian concerts will follow Suns games: Avalon on Friday, April 22 and Tree63 on Friday, July 10. The Zooperstars! will bring their wacky high jinks to the Baseball Grounds twice: May 22 and July 29. The Suns will give away 1994 Alex Rodriguez bobblehead dolls on June 11 and 1987 Randy Johnson figures on July 9. Fireworks will adorn the downtown skies each night July 1-3 in celebration of Independence Day weekend.
The Suns will give away a Wolfson Park replica April 16, courtesy of Swisher International. After a hiatus, kids will receive bats and gloves as promotional items in 2005.
