
Sundogs' Kevin Baker Scores Hat Trick in 7-1 Rout

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sunodgs ' Kevin Baker scored three goals collecting a hat trick in route to a 7-1 triumph over the St. Charles Chill Wednesday night at The Family Arena. This marks the most goals scored by the Sundogs in a single game this season. The Sundogs improve to a 26-24-6 record and are only two points behind seventh place Quad City Mallards whom they will meet Friday and Saturday night.
The Chill's lone goal came from Michael MacIntyre 2:27 into the first period with assist from Nicklas Lindberg putting them on the board early in the opening frame. Baker tied the game with a one-timer from Brandon Coccimiglio with less than four minutes left in the first. Arizona tallied two more goals in the second when Baker scored with assists from David Rutherford and Coccimiglio 3:33 in. 11 minutes later Rutherford would get the best of St. Charles' goalie Robert Moss with a centering feed from Jason Morgan and Baker.
The Sundogs posted four more goals in the third period, the most scored in a single period for the Sundogs this season. 7:11 into the final period Morgan lit the lamp with assists from Shawn Limpright and Bryan Cameron. Arizona scored their final three goals in the remaining three minutes of regulation when Alex Velischek found the net with helpers from Riley Emmerson and Johan Ryd . Baker collected his third goal at the 17:59 mark of the third from Coccimiglio and with one second remaining in regulation Ryd tallied a power play goal after Chill's Chris Affinati was sent off for a two minute slashing minor.
Andrew Engelage looked strong in net tonight making 29 saves for Arizona. The Sundogs outshot the Chill 46-30. Each team received three man-advantages though Arizona was the only one able to maximize their efforts. Baker, Coccimiglio, Emmerson, Ryd, Morgan and Rutherford all had a multiple point night collecting at least two or more points.
The Sundogs take to the road where they will meet the Quad City Mallards for the final time this season before returning home to close out their regular season with an eight-game home stand.
