
Sundogs Foundation Donates $38,000 to Charity

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs and the Arizona Sundogs Foundation donated $38,000 to charity during the first and second intermissions of Friday night's game against the New Mexico Scorpions.
During the first intermission, Arizona Sundogs President Brent Thiessen was joined on the ice by Arizona Sundogs' Team Up For Hope partners Special Olympics Arizona, Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters, Yavapai Food Bank, Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona, Prescott Area Habitat for Humanity, and Trauma Intervention Programs of Arizona. Each agency was presented with a check for $6,000.
"Since day one, we made a commitment to our fans that our organization would have a positive impact on the communities we represent," said Sundogs President Brent Thiessen. "One of the main goals of the Arizona Sundogs Foundation is to make Northern Arizona a better place to live. With the incredible and continued support of our fans, we have been able to raise a significant amount of money that has and will continue to be given back to the community through various local charities."
During the second intermission, Arizona Sundogs Public Relations Manager Shane Ferraro presented United Yavapai Fire Fighters Local 3066 with a check for $2,000 to go to the Foundation for Burns and Trauma to benefit Arizona Children's Burn Camp, 'Camp Courage'. United Yavapai Fire Fighters Local 3066 was on hand throughout the night to collect donations to benefit 'Camp Courage'.
In its two years of existence, the Arizona Sundogs Foundation has collected more than $190,000 and has distributed nearly $110,000 to charities throughout Northern Arizona.
