UNCASVILLE, Conn. (April 23, 2008) - The Connecticut Sun announced Wednesday that Antoinette Upshaw has been waived.
A 6-foot-2 forward from Edward Waters College, Upshaw was signed to a free agent contract last week. She averaged 10.5 points and 11.4 rebounds per game at EWC, a NAIA Division II program.
The Sun open the preseason May 1st at Minnesota. The Connecticut Sun will play two preseason games in Mohegan Sun Arena, one against the Phoenix Mercury on May 4th at noon and the other on May 9th at 7 p.m. against the Houston Comets. The regular season begins May 17th, when the Sun host the Atlanta Dream at Mohegan Sun Arena.
