
Sun to Host Military Appreciation Night

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (May 23, 2014) - In conjunction with WNBA Hoops For Troops, the Connecticut Sun will host Military Appreciation Night during the game tonight against the Seattle Storm at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The highlight of the evening will be a halftime swearing-in ceremony involving up to 80 men and women who will take the oath of enlistment, administered by Commander Justin A. Long, Executive Officer of the Naval recruiting district, New England. These men and women will be serving in the Army, Navy or Air Force.
The Mohegan Tribal Color Guard and the U.S. Navy Silver Dolphins will present the colors before the game.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to recognize the people who keep us safe," Connecticut Sun Vice President and General Manager Chris Sienko said. "Particularly on this weekend, it is important that we remember those who protect our country with their service."
