Sun Have Streak Snapped by Indiana

The Connecticut Sun's (12-6) four-game win streak was snapped by the Indiana Fever (2-16) after a 73-67 loss on Saturday in Indiana. The Sun finished the three-game series 2-1 over the Fever.

The Sun led 16-14 after the first quarter of play. Connecticut's 16 points tied the lowest amount scored by the team in the first quarter of a game this season. The second quarter remained close as the Sun only held on to a one-point lead (29-28) at the half. Indiana outscored Connecticut 24-17 in the third and the two opponents scored 21 points each in the fourth.

The contest saw 11 lead changes and 10 ties. Connecticut only had as much as a four-point lead while Indiana had an eight-point lead at one point.

Four Sun players and three Fever players scored in double-figures.

Jonquel Jones led the team in scoring for the ninth time this season and in rebounds for the 10th time. She scored 16 points, recorded nine rebounds and shot 6-of-9 from the freethrow line.

Bonner finished the contest with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. With three made field goals on the day she moved up to 21st on the WNBA All-Time Field Goals Made List. She passed Sheryl Swoopes (1828) and has now made 1830 career field goals.

Brionna Jones added 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.

Natisha Hiedeman chipped in 12 points off the bench on four made three pointers. Hiedeman accounted for all four of the team's three pointers made.

The Sun tied their season low in turnovers after committing eight. The Fever had one less with seven, also a season low for the them. Both teams shot under 40 percent from the field (Connecticut 35.8, Indiana 39.7) and both went 4-of-17 from behind the arc.

Indiana outrebounded Connecticut 39-37, scored more points in the paint (32-24) and had 10 fast break points to the Sun's zero.

Danielle Robinson, Kelsey Mitchell and Teaira McCowan led Indiana. Robinson scored 19 point and had five rebounds. Mitchell scored 14 and also had five rebounds. McCowan posted a double-double, with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
