
Sugar Skulls Sign Three Players, Trade for Veteran

TUCSON, ARIZONA - The Tucson Sugar Skulls have signed three more players and acquired a veteran indoor football player in a trade for future considerations.
The Sugar Skulls' first-ever trade was for LaTreze Mushatt, a defensive end/linebacker who brings four years of professional indoor football experience to the new franchise. Mushatt joined the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League during last season and was a teammate of Robert Metz, a linebacker who was one of the Sugar Skulls' first signees.
Prior to joining the Blizzard, Mushatt, 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, spent time with three teams from the Champions Indoor Football League, the Saginaw Sting, West Michigan Ironmen and Omaha Beef.
The three players signed by the Sugar Skulls are:
Jonah McCutcheon, safety, 6'3", 215 pounds. Played four years at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama. Started 10 games in his senior year and recorded 30 tackles, 19 unassisted. He also intercepted three passes with 46 return yards. Originally from Mobile, Alabama.
Moses Mondesir, center/guard, 6'1", 290 pounds. Started 22 games over two years at West Texas A&M in 2016 and 2017 where he earned a degree in Sports Exercise Science. Originally from Houston, Texas, attended Alief Elsik High School where he earned first-team all-district honors in 2013. Was a three-year letterman in high school.
Shakore Philip, defensive line, 6'1", 310 pounds. Joins the Sugar Skulls after a season with the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks of the National Arena League. Played four years at Widener College in Chester, Pennsylvania, where he amassed 192 career tackles, 110 of those unassisted. Originally from Long Island, New York, where he attended Bay Shore High School.
The Tucson Sugar Skulls are in their first year of operation as an expansion franchise of the Indoor Football League. The team will begin its inaugural season in March with home games at the Tucson Arena.
